  • Jun. 8th, 2009 at 10:12 PM

So I´m just surfing the Internet, because I don´t want to learn for my math exam tomorrow, and now I´m wondering if it´s just austria that people are listioning to such terrible music...
if you want to know what i mean just listen to this:
seriously this is torture for mind and ears...

the text is like:
and then the red horse turned around
and fought off the fly with it´s tail
the fly wasn´t dumb and just flew around the red horse.

and that´s all the text
and this song is played in all the clubs and everyone is singing...
somethings so wrong with this world

elections...

Tomorrow Austrians will elect their MPs for the Eu Parliament.
I´m anxiously waiting, waiting for the election but also for the outcome as I fear that the far right will gain even more votes.

In the last few days the Austrian Freedom Party (FPÖ) , which has a quite deceiving name as they ar far right; sent comics to all voters "explaining" what the EU "really" wants. Namely to as they put it "to turn our lovely Austria in a country where only muslims and pot smoking greens can live" , What they show is really propaganda.
A few days ago the 3 president of the parliament and member of the FPÖ Martin Graf called the head of the Austrian Jewish community "the father of the antifascist left terrorism".
Apart from that the FPÖ writes in their election propaganda that they are against Turkey and Israel joining the EU which is ridiculous because no one ever even thought about Israel joining... However it´s less ridiculous if you think that in Austria one can still get many votes with anti-Semitism.

In the last election 18 percent voted for this party. I fear that even more people will vote for this party tomorrow

So i hope I will be proved wrong...

It´s a dark day for anti-fascists

Today once again the liberation of the upper-austrian concentration camp Mauthausen was celebrated.
However this year there were also neo-nazis, they where harassing demonstrators and yelling nazi slogans.
I´m shocked as I feel we face a new quality of nazi pride.
It´s the first time in austria since 1945 that something as this has happened and i´m appalled that something as this could happen under the always watch-full gaze of police.

However I´m not only shocked, I´m also feeling ashamed. Ashamed that something like this could happen in a country like austria, ashamed that the police is eagerly beating up left anti-nazi demonstrators but won´t lift a finger in a situation like this, but most of all ashamed that people who lived through the horrors of nationalsozialism and survived it got harassed.
People who fought to survive, who wouldn´t give up who made it and 60 years long people said "never again". Now there are this people faced by the same "heil hitler" yelling as back then.
It´s a black day for Austria

of nazis, me and a violent police officer.

It´s quite some time since i wrote my first entry and it seems i only get up to do it wenn I´m really disturbed by something.
Yesterday I was on an anti-nazi demonstration in Linz . It had some significance because it was on the first of may, and nazis wanted to make their demonstration there.
and that´s what happened )

saying hi, and other stuff...

So this is my first journal entry, and maybe I should have written it months ago but I never really had the time or motivation.
This journal is mostly about telling about myself, as I don´t really write much at the moment except for school and a little bit for myself.

Last weekend I was at the anti NATO security conference demonstration in Munich,Germany and I have to say I´m really shocked and I don´t believe in our state as I used to. Till last week I still thought that there´s a limit to what a western state will use for security.
There were about 5000 people marching in peace and still there was a really huge amount of policeman and military.
When we got to our final destination there were some speeches, then suddenly a friend of mine pointed somewhere at the top of a building.
Up there a sniper was standing, aiming at the people around me.
I am still shocked what the state thinks is ok. I don´t believe it is necessary to have snipers aming at peacefull citizens. We were marching peacefully not because, but despite all the security.
Therefor a quote from Benjamin Franklin:
Any society that would give up a little liberty to gain a little security will deserve neither and lose both.

The only thing is I think society deserves liberty, but it´s taken away step by step.
It´s scary and it has only just begun.
